A tourist in his hometown...

Its not unusual for snow to fall in April or May in Calgary, but the amount it snowed on Friday was something to be seen. 15cm, with temperatures down to -13C on yesterday! This is the 2nd storm in a week. I heard Vancouver got a bit of snow as well, while its over 25C in the East. At least its good to know I can fly out, and it'll be the last time I'll feel that kind of cold for six more months.

Overall a very productive weekend. Got some work done at the old office, had some good sushi and creative appetizers at the new Zen 8 on the old Benny's 4th Ave & 3rd St location, Andre's birthday, Mark & Jen's beautiful wedding at The Ranche in Fish Creek, and some 45 cent per minute indoor golfing to boot!

Traveler's tip: You CAN bring hockey sticks onboard a Westjet plane, and they don't count as an extra checked bag as long as you check a hockey bag with it. I was misinformed by the agent at the YVR airport when I departed, so I brought two non-hockey related bags and my sticks back. The agent there didn't charge me the $40 baggage fee, but put on "my record" that I've been told I can't get away with that next time. Also, hockey equipment bypasses the standard size/weight limits, so no extra fees apply.
