A tourist in his hometown... This is a foodie post, so I'll share one of my fave pix from the June trip to the Okanagan. Mission Hill Chef Michael Allemeier's Sooke Ruby Trout with herb garden puree, walla walla onions and a chorizo tart was to die for.
I was pointed to an excerpt from Anthony Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly" circa 2000. Among other cooking and dining tips, Bourdain explains why you shouldn't eat brunch, have seafood on Mondays, or order the Chili or Shepherd's Pie daily special. Give it a read, it may change the way you look at dining. Like him or not, the guy knows his food. Who wouldn't want to host a show like No Reservations? Labels: food Comments:

Ha! Nice article, from my experience "daily special" really means lets use up whatever is getting old and will go bad soon. Oh and if you ever see beef dip or bbq beef on a bun, it's usually there to help use up the weeks accumulated prime rib that didn't sell...
